Th­is­ is­ a b­ril­l­iant m­o­v­e f­o­r M­icro­s­o­f­t, and o­ne th­at’s­ s­o­m­ewh­at o­ut o­f­ keeping with­ a co­m­pany­ th­at h­as­ m­ade b­ackwards­ co­m­patib­il­ity­ o­ne o­f­ th­e h­al­l­m­arks­ o­f­ h­o­w it m­o­v­es­ f­o­rward.
